Gary, double that 1.5 B and you would be closer to the accual cost of that bird, way too much if you ask me. Of course I go back to the B-47 era that were just shy of 3 million, maybe I'm just a bit behind times.

that makes sense. glad to hear that. think i remember that they cost 1.5+ B$ each? guess only making 22 or 23 would increase the per plane price with all that tooling. pics of the cockpit area seemed crowded. when i was young i could sleep standing up. our Douglas B-26's had a relief tube for the pilot. the rest of the crew had to use a cup then pour it out the tube.

Gary, on a special I saw on TV about the B-2, it has a cot or a place where one man can sleep and it has a porta potty. The aircraft has the room for the crew to stand up from what they said.

back in "our days" in the early 50's , air crews flying the appropriately named "Peacemaker " B-36's flew 40 hour missions with atomic bombs aboard. there were 6 cots on board and lots of room to walk around. today 2 men crew the B-2 stealth bombers on 20 hour missions in a cramed up crowded cockpit. the USAF is a class act of witch we were lucky to have been a small part of.

It seems so good to hear so many people young and old come up and say "Thank You for You Service". I hear this often when I volunteer at our Florida Military Museum. I was emailed this and no doubt you have heard it before. "At some point a Veteran signed a blank check payable to the United States of American for the amount up to and including his life".Thank you all my fellow Veteran friends, for your time and service to our country. God Bless you all and God Bless America
