Greetings fellow Veterans,

Each year on Memorial day, as part of their annual “Memorial Day Service, Veterans, Family of Veterans, and the Communities are invited to gather at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Seneca County, to pay their respects to veterans who gave their lives for our country.

A ceremony is conducted as follows:

A Veteran Memorial March is assembled at the restored WWII Guard Shack. Veterans will march in honor of the veterans and dependents that have been interred at the cemetery since its first burial Sept 26, 2011. All Honorably Discharged Veterans are encouraged to take part in this event.

Memorial Services and Military Honors will follow at the cemetery’s Committal Shelter, honoring all Veterans who sacrificed their lives for our Country.

There is to be a keynote speaker and the Geneva Doughboys will provide Honor Guard & Color Guard.

Boy Scout Troop # 74 Waterloo, NY will place flags at grave sites prior to this year’s event.

William R. Yale, USN (Ret) Director of Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery conducts this ceremony to honor our brothers who have passed on. He has told me that he would very much like to have a group of SAFB veterans at this service and has invited us to participate in the ceremony.

The Memorial day service will take place at the cemetery on Monday, May 25, at 3 PM.

It is desirable that those veterans who wish to participate, respond to this opportunity to honor our departed brothers. Please join Jane and me at this ceremony. Mr. Yale will provide seating for us. Please inform me if you plan to attend.

Call or email me for additional information.
Best regards.
